The Sonicom ultrasonic atomising nozzle is a precision engineered spray nozzle that uses sound rather than pressure to shatter liquid into exceptionally fine droplets. Powered by compressed air and requiring only a low pressure liquid supply, the Sonicom system delivers consistent, controllable atomisation across a wide range of industrial applications and operating conditions.
At the heart of every Sonicom installation is the nozzle tip, an acoustically driven component capable of producing droplets ranging from a coarse spray of 50 to 300 microns down to an ultra-fine dry fog of just 1 to 10 microns. Droplet size is controlled simply by adjusting air pressure, with no need to change the nozzle or interrupt the process. Turndown ratios of up to 50:1 give operators a level of flexibility that conventional pressure nozzles cannot match.
The Sonicom system operates at nominal pressures of 5 bar air and 1 bar liquid, with large liquid orifices that virtually eliminate wear and ensure the quality of atomisation is maintained throughout the working life of the nozzle.
Applications
Sonicom nozzles are used across a broad range of industries worldwide. The soft, low velocity spray plume and precise droplet control make them particularly well suited to humidification and dust suppression, where uniform distribution and minimal overspray are essential. They are also used in disinfection, decontamination and special effects applications where fine, controlled atomisation is a critical requirement.
The Sonicom range
The Sonicom range is built around the ultrasonic nozzle tip, available in eight models covering a wide range of flow rates and spray patterns. Each component in the range has been designed to work together, allowing the system to be configured precisely for the demands of each installation.
