Humidity Control for the Printing Industry
Numerous problems occur within the printing, paper, and cardboard manufacturing industries that can be directly associated with low or incorrect humidity levels. Paper curl, cracking during folding, static electricity, and airborne dust are all problems caused by dry air, affecting print quality, production efficiency, and working conditions. Introducing the correct level of humidity into the workplace solves these quality problems and makes the working environment more comfortable for staff.
The printing industry is particularly sensitive to changes in relative humidity. Even small fluctuations in humidity can have a significant impact on print quality and production efficiency, leading to misregistration, misfeeds, ink adhesion issues, and increased paper waste.
J D UltraSonics ultrasonic nozzles mounted within the roof areas of the print room will maintain relative humidity at the correct level even as the heat generated by machinery dries the air throughout the working shift. Additional nozzles can be positioned around machines and product areas to focus elevated moisture levels precisely where they are needed most.
Our non-drip, non-wetting dry fog technology is particularly well suited to the printing environment, where any surface moisture on paper, machinery, or printed materials would be damaging. Ultra-fine water droplets of just 1 micron evaporate before reaching any surface, ensuring humidity levels are raised and maintained without risk to paper stock, printed materials, or sensitive printing equipment. The self-cleaning stainless steel nozzle system requires minimal maintenance and the simple on/off activation allows easy integration with existing building management or environmental control systems.
