Aquarius Humidity Control System

The Aquarius Humidification Controller

For any business where maintaining the correct relative humidity is critical to product quality, process efficiency, or the welfare of staff and livestock, the Aquarius Controller from J D UltraSonics provides a complete, automated humidity control solution. Designed to work seamlessly with our dry fog nozzle technology, the Aquarius takes the guesswork out of humidity management, giving operators precise, reliable control over their environment with minimal input and minimal maintenance.

Suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications including cold stores, mushroom farms, printing facilities, bakeries, and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, the Aquarius is a practical, user-friendly controller that delivers consistent results day in, day out.

Simple to Operate, Built to Perform

One of the core principles behind the design of the Aquarius is that humidity control should not require constant operator attention. Once the system is set up and your target humidity level is defined, the Aquarius takes care of the rest. Operators do not need specialist knowledge or technical training to use the controller effectively. The colour touchscreen interface uses clear, intuitive graphics and straightforward menu screens that make day to day monitoring and adjustment accessible to anyone on the shop floor.

The touchscreen can be customised to reflect your specific environment and process, so operators see the information that is most relevant to them rather than navigating through settings that do not apply to their application.

Three Operating Modes

Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, the Aquarius offers three operating modes that allow you to run your humidification system in the way that best suits your process.

Continuous mode maintains a constant humidification output and is well suited to environments where humidity demand is consistently high, such as mushroom growing rooms or tobacco storage facilities. Cyclical timer mode runs the system on a pre-set timed cycle, making it a practical choice for operations where humidification needs to follow a shift pattern or production schedule. Humidity mode is the most automated of the three, using the built-in humidistat to monitor conditions within the space and activate the system only when the humidity level drops below the target. As the set point is approached, the system automatically shifts into a pulsed operation, cycling on and off on a timed basis to bring the humidity level up gradually and accurately, avoiding the overshoot that can occur when a system runs continuously right up to the target level.

Knowing Your Environment

Humidity does not exist in isolation. Temperature has a direct influence on relative humidity levels, and a change in temperature can affect the humidity of a space even when no moisture has been added or removed. The Aquarius monitors both relative humidity and temperature continuously, giving operators a complete and accurate picture of conditions within their controlled environment at all times.

For most applications the standard sensor provides reliable, accurate readings. Where a more demanding environment requires it, an aspirated sensor housing is available as an option, ensuring a continuous flow of air across the sensor for more representative readings. For installations where the sensor may be exposed to corrosive fluids, a protected sensor option is also available.

Control Across Multiple Zones

Many of the facilities we work with, whether mushroom farms with multiple growing rooms, food production sites with separate processing and storage areas, or large manufacturing facilities with distinct production zones, require different humidity levels in different parts of the building. The Aquarius addresses this directly with full multi-zone control capability, allowing individual sensors to be installed in each zone and each zone to be set to its own target parameters.

Critically, all of this is managed from the same touchscreen on a single Aquarius unit, giving supervisors and operators a complete overview of humidity conditions across the entire facility without needing to visit each area individually or manage multiple controllers.

Optional Additive Function

For operations where extending product shelf life or applying a treatment to produce or crops is part of the production process, the Aquarius can be specified with an optional additive function. Rather than requiring a separate application system, the additive is delivered automatically through the existing dry fog nozzle infrastructure at a pre-set time and for a pre-set duration, making it a practical and cost-effective addition to the humidification system.

This function is particularly well suited to cold storage, food production, and horticultural environments where additives such as shelf life extenders are already part of the operation. Scheduling delivery through the Aquarius removes the need for manual application and ensures consistent coverage throughout the space every time.

Installation & Construction

The Aquarius is available in painted steel or stainless steel, with stainless steel the natural choice for food production, pharmaceutical, and other environments where hygiene standards demand it. Both versions are supplied ready for connection to mains water, compressed air, and electrical supply, making installation and commissioning as straightforward as possible.

To suit different site layouts and installation requirements, the controller and water treatment components can be supplied as individual wall-mounted units or combined on a floor-standing frame that can be positioned and connected quickly without extensive modification to the surrounding space.

Part of a Complete System

The Aquarius Controller is designed to work as part of a complete J D UltraSonics humidification system, paired with our dry fog nozzle technology to deliver precise, consistent humidity control across a wide range of environments. Whether you are installing a system for the first time or looking to upgrade the control of an existing installation, the Aquarius provides a reliable, low maintenance solution that will perform consistently for years to come.
