Fugitive airborne dust particulates have always been considered an occupational nuisance for above and below ground working. But in recent years the introduction of low cost dry fog dust suppression has successfully reduced flying dust carried in the air flow of mines around the world.

By installing low cost dry fog dust suppression using the sonicom™ Ultrasonic Fogging Nozzles above conveyors, transfer stations, in crushers and even on cutting machinery, dust particles can be settled out of the atmosphere quickly and effectively using a minimum amount of water. The system agglomerates dust at the source through it's micro fine spray of thousands of tiny water droplets generated by an ultrasonic shockwave within the design of the nozzle head.

The dry fog dust suppression system controls hazardous respirable particulates down to the 0.1 to 3 microns fines which are considered to be the principal source of dust clouds, haze and accompanying low levels of visibility.

In most applications where respirable dust particles can be settled out of the atmosphere quickly, the sonicom™ systems makes it unnecessary to add a costly tension additive product to the water.

Cooling and general freshness to the atmosphere is an added bonus gained when fogging nozzles are used underground.

Total water consumption is extremely low - less than 0.5% of that consumed by conventional sprays ensuring that conveyor belt wetting and other accompanying tracking problems are avoided. Control of water output is achieved by simple pressure regulation control.
